What's new - update 04.09.2026
This version tidies up licences: the program now recognises them by what is recorded against your key on the server, not by the key itself. The split of features between the two licences has changed as well.
- The Tablica Sportowa (OKNO) licence is finally recognised. Previously the program asked the server about the wrong kind of licence and reported that there was no licence - even though it was valid.
- A new split of features. The OKNO licence gives the scoreboards shown on a screen: Tablica mała, Tablica 24s, Tablica duża and Ustawienia tablic. The TABW licence gives reading from the referee console and from cameras, plus exporting the score to a file.
- You only see what your licence covers. Tabs outside your licence are now hidden. Until now „Tablica mala" and „Tablica 24s" were always visible and only a click told you the function was unavailable - pointing at the wrong licence while doing so.
- The update window now has two links to this guide: straight to the list of changes and to the whole manual. It also fits itself to the length of the text and warns you not to install during a match.
- The licence panel checks the expiry date - a day that does not exist in the calendar (such as 31 September) can no longer be saved. Such a date stopped the program from showing when the licence runs out.
1. What the software does
Tablica Sportowa CA70 picks up live data from the scoreboard in the arena - score, game clock, fouls, penalties, 24 second clock - and hands it to your production software. Viewers at home see exactly what the crowd in the stands sees.
Data can reach the software in two ways:
- From the referee console - by cable, over a serial port (RS232). The most accurate and reliable method.
- From a camera - a USB camera points at the arena scoreboard and the software recognises the digits in the image. Use this where running a cable to the console is not possible.
The data is then:
- shown in the built-in preview under Odczyt danych (data readout),
- written to a TXT or CSV file - this is the input for vMix and OBS,
- with the right licence, displayed on LED panels connected over HDMI.
💡 The program interface is in Polish. This guide quotes the on-screen labels exactly as they appear, with an English explanation next to each one, so you can follow along even without knowing Polish.
2. Requirements and installation
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 - 64-bit only.
- .NET Framework 4.8 - already included in current Windows versions.
- To connect the console: a free serial port or a USB to RS232 adapter.
- For camera reading: a USB camera aimed at the scoreboard.
- For LED scoreboards: a free HDMI output on the computer.
Installation step by step:
- Download Setup_Tablica_Sportowa_ESK_x64.exe from the Downloads page.
- Run it - installation requires administrator rights.
- Choose the full installation option. The program installs to C:\Program Files\Tablica Sportowa ESK.
- If you want a desktop icon, tick that option during setup - it is unticked by default.
✅ Updates are handled automatically. On every start the program checks for a newer version. If one exists, it shows an Aktualizacja (update) window with a change list and the buttons Zainstaluj (install) and Nie teraz (not now).
⚠️ Never update right before a match. Do it a day earlier or straight after the broadcast. If the program offers an update ten minutes before tip-off, choose Nie teraz.
3. Licence and demo mode
🛑 The most important thing on this page. Without a licence the program runs for 4 minutes only and then closes itself. A red Wersja demo (demo version) label and a countdown appear at the top of the window. Enter and verify your licence before the match, never during a broadcast.
Activation step by step:
- Open the Licencja (licence) tab.
- Tick Pokaż klucz (show key) - otherwise the field is masked.
- Type the key and click Sprawdź (check).
- Once verified, the key is saved automatically and the demo countdown disappears.
After activation the status panel looks roughly like this:
Two licence types
| # | Licence name | What it gives | What it does not give |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tablica Sportowa (OKNO) | Scoreboards shown on a screen. Unlocks all four scoreboard tabs - Tablica mała, Tablica 24s, Tablica duża and Ustawienia tablic - together with team rosters. | Camera reading - the „Kamera" and „Kamera 24s" tabs are hidden. |
| 2 | Tablica Sportowa (TABW) | Reading from the referee console and from cameras, plus exporting the score to a file. | Scoreboards shown on a screen - the scoreboard tabs are hidden. |
You can buy a licence with the Kup licencję (buy licence) button in the Licence tab, or directly in the System Sensor shop.
⚠️ The licence is tied to one computer. Licence files cannot be copied to another machine - they are encrypted and bound to the specific computer. If you change your production computer, activate the licence on the new one well in advance.
4. Connecting the referee console
This is the primary way of working. The software connects to the console by cable and reads the data straight from the scoreboard - no mistakes, no delay.
Automatic connection
In the Połączenie z pulpitem (console connection) tab, tick Szukaj pulpitu przy starcie (search for console on start). The program will then look for the console on every launch: first the port used last time, then all the others. This is the recommended setting - plug in the cable and just start the program.
If nothing is found, a Brak połączenia (no connection) window asks what to do next:
Meaning: CA70 console not detected. Tak (yes) = choose the COM port manually, Nie (no) = switch to camera mode.
Manual connection
- Open the Połączenie z pulpitem tab.
- In Port COM: pick the port. The list shows the device name next to each port, which makes finding the right adapter easier.
- In Typ pulpitu: (console type) choose Pulpit ESK or Pulpit 2.
- Click Połącz (connect).
Checking the connection
A status bar with a coloured dot sits in the top right corner of the window:
| # | Dot | On-screen text | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | red | Brak połączenia | No console detected. Check the cable and the port. |
| 2 | green | Połączenie z pulpitem CA70 / Odbiór danych bardzo dobry | All good - ready to broadcast. |
| 3 | amber | Połączenie z pulpitem CA70 / Odbiór danych niestabilny | Data arrives with gaps. Check cable quality and length. |
| 4 | red | Rozłączono / Brak ramek > 10 s | The console stopped sending. The program keeps retrying. |
✅ The program reconnects on its own. If the cable drops briefly, it retries every two seconds. The exception: if you disconnected manually with Rozłącz, it waits for your decision instead.
5. File export - vMix and OBS
This is the heart of broadcast work. The program writes the current match state to a file, and your production software reads that file live and shows the values in the graphics.
Settings step by step
- Open the Eksport do pliku (file export) tab.
- Make sure Eksport włączony: (export enabled) is ticked.
- In Format pliku: choose TXT (.txt) or CSV (.csv).
- Click Wybierz lokalizację (choose location) and pick where the file goes - somewhere you can easily reach from vMix or OBS.
- In Tryb zapisu: (write mode) keep the overwrite option.
- Leave Dzielnik ramek: (frame divider) at 10.
💡 Recommended broadcast setup: overwrite mode plus frame divider 10. The file then always holds just the current match state and the computer is not needlessly loaded with disk writes. Append mode is for post-match analysis, not live production.
The TXT file
34 lines. Each line is one value, with no name, always in the same order. Your production software refers to the line number.
The CSV file
Each line holds the value and the field name, separated by a semicolon:
CSV is easier to start with because you can see what is what. TXT is often simpler to wire into ready-made graphics templates.
What goes into the file
The full field list with descriptions is inside the program: Pomoc (help) → Wyświetl Opis pliku (show file description). The most commonly used ones:
| Line | Field name | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | PosiadaniePilki | Ball possession |
| 2 | ZegarMeczu | Game clock (minutes:seconds) |
| 3 | PunktyGospodarzy | Home score |
| 4 | PunktyGosci | Away score |
| 5 | PolowaKwarta | Quarter, half or set |
| 6 | FauleGospodarzy | Home fouls |
| 7 | FauleGosci | Away fouls |
| 8-11 | CzasyTrenera… | Coach time-outs, both teams |
| 12 | Syrena | Horn signal |
| 13 | ZegarMeczuStartStop | Whether the clock is running |
| 15-26 | Kara… | Penalties: shirt number and penalty time, three per team |
| 27 | KodDyscyplinyTekst | Sport name |
| 30-31 | NazwaGospodarzy / NazwaGosci | Team names entered in the program |
| 32-33 | KolorGospodarzy / KolorGosci | Shirt colours |
| 34 | Zegar24s | 24 second clock |
✅ The file can be read while being written. vMix and OBS may keep it open without any conflict. If the file is briefly locked (by an open Excel window, for instance), the program retries and never freezes the output.
6. Team names and shirt colours
Go to the Drużyny | kolor (teams and colour) tab. Type the names into Gospodarze: (home) and Goście: (away) - these go into the export file and onto the LED scoreboards.
Set shirt colours either by typing a colour code or by clicking a swatch from the palette below. Tick Pokaż kolory koszulek na tablicy (show shirt colours on the scoreboard) if they should appear in the preview.
7. Reading from a camera
Where a cable to the console is not an option, the software can read the digits from a camera image pointed at the arena scoreboard. Two tabs handle this: Kamera for the main board and Kamera 24s for the 24 second clock. They are set up identically and keep separate settings.
⚠️ Camera reading belongs to the Tablica Sportowa (TABW) licence. With an OKNO licence the camera tabs are hidden.
Setup step by step
- Pick the camera from the Kamera: list and click Start. If your camera is missing, click Odśwież (refresh).
- Straighten the image if the camera views the board at an angle. Click Kadruj (crop), then click the four corners of the board in order: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. Points can be dragged. Finish with Zastosuj (apply).
- Show where each number is. From Pole do mapowania: (field to map) pick a field - home score, for example - and draw a rectangle around that number in the preview. The program snaps the frame to the digits itself.
- Repeat for every value you need. One field means one rectangle - drawing a new one replaces the previous.
- Improve legibility with the sliders described below.
- Click Rozpoznawaj (recognise). From then on the values flow into the export file exactly as they would from the console.
- Save the setup as a profile - type the venue name in the field and click Zapisz (save).
✅ Profiles save a great deal of time. For the next match in the same arena there is nothing to set up again - pick the saved profile and click Wczytaj (load). Name profiles after the venue.
Two sliders that rescue the reading
| # | Slider | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Przycinanie krawędzi - edge trimming (0-30 px) | When a protective mesh or grille hangs in front of the board, as it does in many arenas. The slider trims the edges of each rectangle so the software does not try to read the mesh as digits. |
| 2 | Erozja cyfr - digit erosion (0-5 px) | When digits bleed into each other or glare. The slider thins them, which helps separate them. |
There is also a Zamień Gosp. ↔ Goście (swap home and away) tick box, useful when the camera views the board from the other side and the sides are reversed.
⚠️ Camera reading depends on conditions. Mount the camera firmly, as square to the board as possible, where nobody will block it. Test the reading before the match under match lighting - arena light during warm-up is often different from game time.

8. Team rosters
The software can show player names alongside their points and fouls. Rosters are loaded from a text file in the Tablica duża tab using Wczytaj gospodarzy... (load home) and Wczytaj gości... (load away).
Preparing the file
A plain text file, one player per line: shirt number first, then the name.
Instead of a space you may use a semicolon, a comma or a tab - the software recognises all of them. A CSV file with separate columns works too.
- Maximum 12 players per team - further lines are ignored.
- Save the file as UTF-8 so accented characters display correctly.
- The software sorts players by shirt number automatically.
⚠️ Order matters for individual data. Points and fouls for individual players arrive from the console as position numbers (1-12), not as names. The order of players in your file must match the order of positions programmed into the console, otherwise points land on the wrong player.
The same tab has buttons for clearing data between matches: Usuń punkty i faule (clear points and fouls), Usuń faule (clear fouls) and Usuń nazwiska (clear names). Each asks for confirmation.
Post-match statistics
The Eksport statystyk... (export statistics) button saves a summary of points and fouls for every player. The program writes two files at once - a readable TXT with tables and a CSV for spreadsheets.
9. Quick entry of points and fouls
If individual points do not arrive from the console, you can add them from the keyboard without touching the mouse. Press / to open the Szybkie wpisywanie (quick entry) overlay.
| # | You type | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3P12 | Three points for shirt number 12 (home team) |
| 2 | 2P5 | Two points for number 5 |
| 3 | 1P3 | One point for number 3 |
| 4 | F12 | A foul for number 12 |
| 5 | -3P12 | Removes three points from number 12 (fixing a mistake) |
| 6 | -F12 | Removes a foul from number 12 |
💡 Home or away? A plain entry applies to the home team. To record it for the away team, start with a space: 3P12. That is the only difference.
Enter confirms, Esc cancels. After each entry the program confirms what it did. If the number is not in the roster it says so plainly, instead of quietly recording the point against the wrong player.
10. LED panel scoreboards (HDMI)
With a Tablica Sportowa (OKNO) licence the software can display the scoreboard on LED panels in the arena or on an ordinary monitor connected to the computer's HDMI output. Three windows are available:
| # | Window | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tablica mała (small board) | Basic scoreboard - score, clock, fouls |
| 2 | Tablica 24s | 24 second clock together with the game clock |
| 3 | Tablica duża (large board) | Scoreboard with team rosters - numbers, names, points and fouls |
Each window has its own button with a Pełny ekran (full screen) tick box beside it. The mouse pointer is hidden in these windows so it never appears on the panel.
Appearance is configured in the Ustawienia tablic (scoreboard settings) tab: resolution, colours of individual elements (separately for score, clock, fouls, penalties and rosters) and typefaces with their sizes. Two built-in typefaces mimic a classic segment display - DSEG7 Classic and Seven Segment. Save with Zapisz ustawienia; Przywróć domyślne restores factory settings.
11. Help built into the program
The Pomoc (help) tab holds material worth knowing:
- Szybki - Start CA70 - the key console commands on one screen.
- Instrukcja pulpitu CA70 - komendy sędziego - the full command list for referees.
- Wyświetl Opis pliku - every export field with a description. Look here while configuring vMix or OBS.
- PDF manuals - scoreboard operation, basketball, initialising boards with player names.
- Przykład połączenie Komputer - pulpit - a wiring diagram for longer distances.
Key console commands
12. Troubleshooting
| # | Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The program closed after four minutes | That is demo mode. Enter your licence in the Licencja tab and click Sprawdź. |
| 2 | „Brak połączenia" (no connection) | Check the cable and adapter, select the right COM port, try the other console type. Make sure the console is powered on. |
| 3 | „Odbiór danych niestabilny" (unstable reception) | Usually the cable - too long, damaged, or running alongside power cables. See the long-distance wiring diagram in the Help tab. |
| 4 | vMix or OBS sees no changes | Check that Eksport włączony is ticked and that the file path matches in both programs. Click Otwórz plik to see whether the values change. |
| 5 | The camera misreads digits | Increase Przycinanie krawędzi (mesh in front of the board) or Erozja cyfr (digits bleeding together). Check camera focus and alignment. |
| 6 | Camera tabs are unavailable | You have an OKNO licence, which covers scoreboards on a screen but not camera reading - that belongs to the TABW licence. |
| 7 | Points go to the wrong player | The player order in your roster file does not match the positions programmed into the console. |
| 8 | Score left over from the previous match | Click Usuń punkty i faule in the Tablica duża tab. |
When reporting a problem, the Log tab is useful - it is the program's activity log. It is also written to disk in %ProgramData%\TablicaSportowa\Logi. Just send the file from the day the problem occurred.
✅ Short pre-match checklist: licence verified → console connected (green dot) → team names and colours entered → export enabled and path matching vMix/OBS → previous match points and fouls cleared → rosters loaded.
